HomeEquityLoanCalc started with a renovation quote that didn’t survive contact with a lender’s CLTV cap. The “equity” in the headline wasn’t the borrowable figure — the cap, the appraisal, and the stressed HELOC payment were. So we built the tool we wanted: type a home value and what you owe, see the fundable amount, both payments, and the stress lines before any application.

Everything runs in your browser — no login, no database, nothing to breach. Formulas are published on the Methodology page and every result links to the inputs that produced it.

HomeEquityLoanCalc is run by Pramod Rijal, an independent maker — no company, no team, no investors. Rate examples track 2026-typical second-lien levels; methodology is reviewed whenever lender conventions shift.
